December Green Drinks

When: Thursday, December 18th, 6-7:30pm

Where: Black Button Distilling
85 Railroad Street
Rochester, NY  14609

“Rochester, NY's first and finest, grain to glass Craft Distillery. Making Whiskey, Vodka and Gin next to the Rochester Public Market.”

“Since 1922 my family has provided some of the finest men’s suit buttons available. For Four generations these buttons have closed suits worn by Presidents, Popes, Kings, and Businessmen the world over. From a young age I went to work in my grandfather’s factory but it was clear I was meant for a different path. I broke tradition and decided to make whiskey, but the lessons I learned in his factory as a kid still guide me to this day; work hard, work with your hands, make your product the best on the market, and you can’t cheat time. My distillery pays homage to my grandfather and the world he knew - where real men worked hard and drank real pot distilled whiskey. My name is Jason Barrett, I started my craft distillery at 24 years old, and I love distilling. I hope you will try our small batch, grain to glass spirits and join me in raising a glass to Living Large in Small Batches.”

Our only restriction we have is the number of people permitted we are allowed to have in our tasting room at one time which is 45.

So to be fair, we are asking friends to plan for one of three time slots (6-6:30), (6:30-7), or (7-7:30).  Please RSVP Kimie at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  with your preference (thanks!).

Additionally (in keeping with our holiday traditions) we are asking folks to bring items for donation to the House of Mercy. We will have collection boxes at the door.  Their top ten needs for December are:

  • Socks
  • Blankets, towels, sheets, washcloths
  • Diapers & Pull-Ups (all sizes)
  • Razors
  • Deodorant
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned soup

This month, Thursday, October 16th, 6-7:30 at the Greenhouse Café at 2271 East Main Street

Along with finding out about the greenhouse café and tasting some awesome kale smoothies, we will get up-close and personal with SeedFolk City Farm, In the City Off the Grid and Prosper Rochester.

Together these dedicated folks are:

• exploring urban agriculture, maximizing yields within a confined space

• creating a living classroom to engage at risk youth in employment and education

• using micro-climates, ground source thermo, passive solar and renewable energy

• implementing a simple and replicable model integrated into communities throughout the City

All phases of this project from planning, design, construction and implementation have been motivated by community need.

Hope to see you there!
